Speech by the president of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, for the reopening of the museum in the Rotonda Brunelleschi
« Cultivating the memory of the Doctors, of what they were and what they did, means preserving the awareness of ourselves, of what we are and even of what we could be in the future. If Florence today is the city known and admired throughout the world, if Tuscany is a model of civilization, we owe it in large part to them. A museum space dedicated to the Medici, therefore, is a way of preserving the roots and renewing gratitude. I want to thank those who made all this possible, from the museum director Samuele Lastrucci, to all the technicians and volunteers. » |
